A growing number of RGP-, Soft- and IO-Lenses requires 'semi-visible' or ‘visible’ markings. And this is generally the case for multi focal lenses. It can be a technical engraving content but even so a branding or protection against forgery.

In the past engraving mainly has been done by mechanical processing or simple CO2 lasers. The obvious advantage of the CO2 systems is their low price. But due to the 10.600 nm wavelength an infrared heat radiation affects the lenses outside the actual laser engraving area and further process steps constrain the production process.

MC-QC is a modular concept for lens inspection and finishing at the backend process combined with automated workflows.

The MC-QC V3.0 is an open system designed to combine other modules, e.g. lens inspection or popular lens branding by premium quality engraving of finished coated lenses. The productivity of the basic version is about 200 objects (e.g. lenses) per hour while the optional second printer head can reach > 400 objects (e.g. optical lenses) per hour.
